Steamed Mussels in Spicy Soy Ginger Garlic Sauce

I am a huge fan of mussels, this spicy ginger garlic sauce is addictive and would go great on any seafood. Its a great quick easy meal and looks amazing with the open faced mussels.


Ingredients
8-10 open faced Mussels

Sauce recipe: 1 clove grated garlic Equal size grated ginger (or 1/2 tsp ea) 1 tbsp soy sauce 1 tbsp Chinese cooking wine 1 tbsp honey 1 tbsp sambal 1 tsp sesame oil 2 tbsp water 1/2 tsp black pepper

1. In a small bowl combine all the ingredients for the sauce. Set aside.

2. In a plate arrange the mussels, spoon over the sauce over each mussel.

3. If you don't have a steamer, place some water in the wok and in the middle place a ramekin.

4. Place the plate of mussels on top of the ramekin before the water boils.

5. Once the water begins to boil and steam starts to form cover the wok and steam for 15 mins.

6. Carefully remove from the steam using oven mitts. Garnish with chopped green onions.
